New Single // The Ok Shack - Rollercoaster
​El Monte based indie rock act The Ok Shack released a new single earlier this month "Rollercoaster" and it's a two headed beast. The name is very fitting.The song intros as a low tempo, sleepy, indie track then quickly moves into a rhythmic mix of early 2000's indie rock and modern Day Wave-esque indie pop, something the band pulls off excellently in there EP release earlier this year. Hit the two minute mark and the song takes a sharp unexpected turn into unknown waters. An immediate jumpy, groovy, dance riff pierces through catching your ear if you weren't already paying attention. The ska like transformation then pushes the song to its premature end. This is why we love The Ok Shack, it comes at you with a solid, we'll refined indie vibe but every once in a while they throw you a funky ska beat that'll make anyone attending their chaotic punk like backyard shows dance (if the indie hadn't already done so) guaranteed.
